You are a citizen. You attend a workshift but somehow are kidnapped by @Corpu during the shift. You, as an asset of the combine, did not succeed to book out from work and have therefore gotten your credits, loyalty points and trust withdrawn from the citizen record for evading your duty and taking government property with you: a workers uniform and hammer.

I lift my hat that the community latched onto this trend early and taught me through a controllers perspective by being DoB on how the mechanics that are being praised by the WEF are oppressive.

There is an argument that the gamemode should not actually be dystopia. But when being almost perfectly one with platform for escapism, it allows real experiment scenarios that enable you to simulate difficult to become roles and enabling a top down perspective on how it unravels with real people.

This thread is for drawing parallels from your experience with the trend and sharing your unique findings from the roleplay you have had so far.

The great reset is about a modern cyberpunk world where people live in a digital society that is controlled by an elite behind a software that determines the lives of people through digital currencies and credit/social/loyalty points.

All actions are tracked to the extent of 1984 where your words and actions are always being tracked and graded to determine your right for public services.

Willard achieves this by having a traceable digital currency and trust score systems in play with institutions to utilize the data, while having a conglomerate elite that resource manage where you can hustle and buy groceries as a citizen.

All of this is withdrawable at the click of a controllers PDA if they find an anomaly they don't like - which gives you the motto of owning nothing.

You cannot own an apartment, store or item. You can only buy and consume with your pay check money from your oppressor. To nomads you're essentially nothing but a slave, and stealing from you is practically just stealing from the Combine - because you didn't own anything to begin with.

For start, my finding was that if you decide to rebel - you should milk your trust from the Combine by currency exchanging credits into chips with familiar rebels at an interest until your account is cancelled. But try to predict when it is being cancelled so you can buy as much real goods that will help you in a nomadic life style.

Bro I have no idea wtf you're talking about here, this is trippy
Willard is a metaverse, digital imitation, of an abstract modern dystopia which is meant to be a mystery. I managed to explore the theme through here by being DoB. To know more, I highly suggest you try gaining a high rank in CMU, DoB, Civil Protection, CWU management or CCA.

Preach brother, preach.

There are no rebels - every rebel you see is a paid actor by the Combine regime. Vortigaunts don't exist - they're just puppets controlled by (very visable) strings. The DoB, the CWU, the CMU? They don't exist either - every single worker is an undercover CP who is trying to lull you into being productive. Even your family members aren't real. Ask them which day you were born. You will quickly see that they are just OSI operatives.

Your whole life is a lie. You don't know it, because they already MMR'd you. You will never know the truth, because you, yourself, have already been replaced. Accept your fate - you will never escape City 24.

Marc Laidlaw is a visionary, Half Life 2 was a warning against technocratic totalitarianism and the alien stewardship that Earth will soon endure. Life imitates art. If we're lucky we might even observe the transhumanism movement within our lifetime. Since we played Half Life 2, though, we'll know which side to fight for.

half life 2 is a direct representation of what modern day society would become. elon musk will use SpaceX to reach differing dimensions and contact a hostile alien military to take over the world, with him being the ultimate ruler alongside his alien companions

and that is why we need to de-platform elon and prevent his ownership of Twitter.com, otherwise we'll become the slaves of a regime that awfully takes inspiration from Germany, that with the armbands and seemingly World War-ish gas masks that these aliens wear in the game itself

There are correlations with the satire of the mentioned videos below. This post is an appreciation for allowing me to try the tools of oppression through the PDA, which felt like the theme of great reset.

You will own nothing and you will be happy.

it's not a conspiracy if they openly admit they want people to rent things instead of owning them
