Pls do they're virtually uselessMelee sucks and I should rework it. Although getting consistent damage with heavy melee weapons might be underrated atm.

Cooking is S-tier. Like... easy +15 skill levels in every single skill (that's a whopping 120 skill levels). Like imagine not having to train any single skill above level 30 really to reach max level (because starting attribute points also give +5-6). Crafting to make all the shit.
Smuggling helps as a source of a lot of things, but with effort you can get that elsewhere. Just a big QOL really to turn excess shit into chips into useful shit without needing other players. Guns is debateable. I have 0 guns on my rebel, 0% experience in it, and it is completely useless to my playstyle. But some people use (need) it, and leveling it gives proper boosts.
Speed gives quite decent benefits in fights, but really you want a good gun first and be able to use that good gun. Medicine makes a lot of useful shit, but most of it is at lower levels already. Still, can do cool shit with it if you bother, just not as universally OP.

To 30 with your default stats helps, as you'll want those recipes so you can cook your shit to get your stats kickstarted if you ever run out of boosts. Lets you make a +5 perception boost (doughnut, creamy leech stew) to get 40 cooking from where you can make all the good stuff. What level should I get cooking to, for example?
