Enforce PK rules

Yes but one part of that job is literally for the sake of server balance.

Yes but in most of those cases that is you choosing to engage in those things (the sewers being so lethal is silly, I do want to say I agree there. Being PK'd by hyper-lethal NPC's is worse than dying in a sweep lol).

If you trade to get better gear, that is a choice to do so - and a choice whether or not you do so openly.

If you carry gear you are choosing to carry it on you, etc.

For the record I am not saying cops should never get PK'd. But being PK'd after being forced in a PKable situation is really dumb.
As I said, you have to "choose" to do these things to be a rebel. If you don't choose to take any risks, then you are just a citizen. We, by the fact that we have to do this to be rebels, have to take risks to be rebels.

Of course, but you don't have a 'rebel boss' who is ordering you to do things a certain way for server balance or you get PK'd. You are never put directly in a situation where you are send blindly to the surface, gun in hand and PK risk on, mandated to shoot cops because cops did 'x'. See what I mean?

I don't mind cops getting PK'd for their own stupidity or negligence. Likewise, I don't think rebels should have it as hard as they do, either - ergo just like uninvolved rebels shouldn't be PK'd for merely existing in the presence of a sweep they didn't cause (or worse, get PK'd from NPC's lmao) Cops shouldn't be PK'd for being forced to sweep in response to those actions without any ability to say "no" without literally DCing or swapping char every time.

Neither is a good thing.

I... think this thread has kinda derailed. Bottom line is that cop PK's are probably not going anywhere, and that the rebel situation was handled properly given all the context.

For the record though, I think cops always have a choice to sweep or not. If someone really doesn't want to - which is a turning point I'm kind of waiting for - they are free to choose to try weasel their way out of it ICly. I'd like to see that happen, that'd be good roleplay.

Cops really should be PK'd when they die. Especially if they are allowed to just remake into the faction. It's even the one faction that can open up its applications and drain the playerbase from every combine organisation.

They won't suffer from a few losses here or there.

I think the craziest shit about all of that is that I realised... When rebels actually do anything else than scavenging trash and making weapons, everybody will just cry about it and say shit like "well, should have just not done it at all. you know what? don't even be a rebel lol ez". Give free food to civs? **cry bout rebels being bad and make 0 roleplay and only scriptwhore**

actually, rebel still get trashtalked no matter what even if they just stay passive with people saying they don't do shit just because they don't wanna lose scripts

Locking this thread, Lots of replies.

But this is most likely getting denied. While yes, we do enforce PK rules, by looking at the situation this indeed does refer to, video evidence does show that OTA did have a semi-major fuckup which caused us to head for a compromise of: NLR, no refunds.

Rebels lost some gear in the referred to situation and the battle was overall a tie in the sense that OTA did get wiped the first squad, but did some damage the second time around. There is no clear victor or loser. Overall, we compromised and gave the Rebels some OTA gear for their hard work and OTA went home with some rebels surviving.

This decision has been made by the CMs mid-meeting. CLosing and locking thread.
