How do I put this..?
Remember when Willard was fun?
Remember when Willard was fun?
Not fun in the sense of, "Oh wow, it's a videogame; relax, unwind." But rather, fun in the sense of "Oh wow, I can join this server and not have to worry about all the bullshit of everyday life," or rather, "Oh wow, I can play this fun HL2RP without having to deal with everyone's bureaucracy."
I remember that Willard, I remember it fondly, but as of late, that Willard, that sweet summer child, is but just that, a memory.
A long distant past that I yearn for, and I believe that the resurrection of such a memory is close at hand.
And that resurrection is because of Rad-X and what he does for this server.

Since I've joined Willard, I've been on both sides of the spectrum. I am a player, and I am staff. I was banned, and I play daily. I was a minge, and I take the game seriously.
And now? I find myself as one of the few remaining true players left on the staff team.
You may ask yourself, "What? No! Everyone on the staff plays! Everyone on the team roleplays!"
But that's not what I mean. Everyone on staff plays, yes, but not everyone is a player.

Players are the backbone of this server, the everyday joe, the guy who just wants to relax and play the fucking video game without having to worry about other people, their opinions, and how they think their shit doesn't stink.
Most staff, in my eyes, as wrong as this may seem, are not players; they are staff.
They join Willard, and they see it as a job. They douse themselves in the bureaucracy, they thrive in the drama, they yearn for their "one true vision," and they ruin the game.
They beg for AP because they can't take a step back to realize that sometimes players just want to keep playing.
They beg for AP because they forgot what it's like to be that frenzied kid who's excited to continue his character's story.
They beg for AP because they forgot what it's like to genuinely enjoy the game.
And that's what breaks my heart. That's what gets me.

This thread is not really a complaint thread, but a wake-up call to the staff team. A wake-up call to all the people who were staff, who are staff, who will be staff, and those who get caught up in the bureaucracy.
This is a game.
And you better start to remember that.
Or else, you'll lose yourself, and you'll lose sight of what this server, the game we all are supposed to enjoy, is meant to be.
Thank you.
